Gerard Way is an American singer, songwriter, musician, and comic book writer. He is best known as the lead vocalist and co-founder of the band My Chemical Romance. His career has seen him collaborate with some of the most renowned artists in the music industry, as well as having a successful solo career. He is also the creator of the award-winning comic book series The Umbrella Academy.
Gerard Way was born in Summit, New Jersey on April 9, 1977. He was the son of Donna Lee and Donald Way. He attended Belleville High School and then the School of Visual Arts in New York City.
